not much to share here lately, as I've been out in the shop working a lot lately. lots of good woodworking getting done, but not much drawing. I put a question out on Google+ that I didn't get any answers to.
So, I will post it to you all: When you sell your 2-d works in black and white do you sell all rights to use the work with it? I'm thinking of using the scans for coloring pages and etc, and selling the originals. I'm basically wondering if anyone cares, and about the ethics of this kind of situation.

well, let's see if this works. I've been trying and trying to get pictures posted into these journal entries.
anyway, the link is for a mandala I finished today. If you take a look at the gallery there's also a partially colored mandala that I was also working on today. I got an unprecedented 4 1/2 hours in the studio today and can hardly believe it!
Still lots to do with moving in, we're having a party this weekend, and I had an interview today for a job, it's part time, and that's all I really want right now.
we'll see what happens. Going to purchase my studio building tomorrow, I hope. Tried to do it today, but they were already closed. ho hum.

well, went into town today to try to get the three older mandalas scanned in .tiff format rather than as a pdf. got to the UPS store, where they can do the larger scans for a lot less money, only to find that their scanner is not talking to their computer today. GRRRR! then have to drive all the way across town to go to Office Max. fine, with the exception that the clerk there did not bother to make sure that all of the image was actually included on each scan... and their prices are like 3 times what the UPS store had charged.
now I have to drive back to town and get them to re-do two of the six scans...and they darn well better not charge me for it either!
grrrrr.....so totally frustrating! I could be drawing more mandalas or coloring the ones already scanned, but no, I have to drive back into town, again. And there's not even a starbucks anywhere nearby...(whine...)
I was able to have the three postcard mandalas rescanned, so there are better copies of them up there now, and one new one that was scanned properly, but the other two I guess will have to wait until some time tomorrow.

I'm slowly getting this figured out. got a few of my mandalas posted. started working on one on a canvas board a few days ago. will probably paint it with acrylics.
i'm thinking of painting the ones on paper with watercolors. I have to run some tests to see how the sharpie pen reacts to the watercolors. It would suck if the pen ran when the water touched it.
